Leslee Ann Hoepner Scruggs is an award-winning educator and science lab teacher at the American Heritage School of Palm Beach, bringing 21 years of teaching expertise to the classroom. For the past 10 years, Leslee has transformed how students connect with the Everglades, instilling a deep appreciation for this unique ecosystem. 

Her seven-year journey with the Everglades Champions Program culminated in achieving GOLD status, a testament to her dedication to building community and documenting innovative educational practices. As the Palm Beach Illustrated Teacher of the Year in 2024, Leslee will share her insights on Building School Culture With Innovative Ideas, showcasing how her work with the Everglades can inspire impactful change in any school setting.
