CULTIVATING YOUTH LEADERSHIP FOR THE EVERGLADES
ABOUT THE HIGH SCHOOL LEADERSHIP COMMITTEE
The Everglades Foundation's High School Leadership Committee provides a platform for cultivating youth leadership for Everglades restoration. It provides a unique opportunity for environmentally conscious high school students from across the state of Florida to amplify their voices through community engagement. As members of the High School Leadership Committee, students will participate in a program of service-learning and hone their leadership skills to foster and promote environmental stewardship in their local communities.
The High School Leadership Committee is a community action project-driven leadership program. The Everglades Foundation annually accepts 25 high school students from around the state to serve on the Committee. Each year, a project theme and focus will be selected, and the committee members will work collaboratively to plan and implement the project in their local communities.
